after a tour of steven hayes' accommodations at macdougall-walker, judge jon blue said that jury selection should be able to resume on march 15th.
hayes is being held in what amounts to an observation cell in macdougall-walker's infirmary. with more square footage, and a window to the outside, his new digs are actually a step up. that is, if you discount the all-night diner lighting that shined until last week. it was then the prison put a filter on the light in hayes' room reducing the "looms" to half what they were. there was a lot of talk of "looms" in the transcript of the judge's visit. all in all, it didn't seem as though hayes was being mistreated. but jails are infamous for bad things happening behind closed doors.
